GYM SIZE ANNOUNCEMENT
Division
Effective for the 2023/2024 season, USASF has implemented a new athlete measure system. Under the new policy, ONLY ALL STAR ELITE TEAMS (Not Hype/Elevate/Elevate Elite/CheerAbilities) are counted in the GYM SIZE when determining D1 vs. D2. Although in seasons past we have used Prep & All Star Elite athletes to declare our D1/D2 status, the change this season only allows for the use of the All Star Elite athletes. As a result, Pro Spirit has made the decision to compete in the D2 division for the remainder of this season.
What exactly does this mean: D1 vs D2.
Every competition is important and every competition has a slightly different way of combining D1 & D2 Divisions.
-
Most Local and Regional competition venues typically combine D1 & D2 so the composition of our competitive season will not change.
-
At All Star World, teams from both D1 and D2 are combined, therefore any competition bids awarded and travel arrangements/venue will not change.
-
Varsity events split D1 & D2 at competitions and at the Summit. Therefore any bids received will be for D2 Summit which typically occurs the week after D1 Summit.
Why this decison was made?

This decision was made to ensure that our teams are in the most competitive position at events this season. Competing as D2 will usually allow our athletes to compete against more teams in their division. We will assess and determine the gym status for the upcoming season at our tryouts.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Trey or Shelly for any further details or explanation!

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Reminder
We need to remind everyone about the commitment that you and your athlete have made to their team for the 2023-2024 season. As we begin to kick off nationals season and the remainder of the season we feel it is necessary to go over a few things regarding TEAM PRACTICE.
-
It is IMPERATIVE that all athletes are at practice. For our teams to hit the mat competition ready they need to be having productive practices in the gym. Stunt sections, tumbling sections, and routines can not be fully prepared without good attendance.
-
Missing practices for unexcused reasons could result in routine placement changes or even removal from the team. There are only a few reasons at this point in the season that will be considered excused.
-
Contagious with doctors note
-
Death in the family
-
Mandatory school event with documentation & approval from the coach. With school events we are strongly suggesting that you make every effort to attend a portion of your Pro Spirit practice as well, even if that is just in time for the team to go FULL OUT and STUNT.
-
-
Please make sure communication has been made with your team coach before the absence is going to occur. Per the Pro Spirit tryout packet every absence needs to be submitted through the Absence Request Form which can be completed online HERE. This helps ensure that coaches can plan accordingly before their practice starts each day.

THE SUCCESS OF THE TEAM IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT ARE PRACTICES PURPOSEFUL & PRODUCTIVE.
